Sticks and stones do break bones and you can’t help who you fall
in love with. The patterns we grow up with, however fucked up -
are [fam]iliar. She was used to fixing everything, running a whole
ship. Making everyone happy. By the time she realized she had to leave her house to have a sweet thing said to her - it was too late. She is invested in a toxic relationship and what’s worse is that she chooses to act as if everything is fine (outside) She’s gone back now. Across the bridge, over the moat, through the doors, down the hall and down the stone steps to her dungeon caverns. Her safe place where nothing can reach her. Not even light. We knew the way. It had been a long
time for some of us but we never forgot the path. We sit with her for time and listen. This Medicine she lends to the mission has been
extracted, pressed, stored and repressed. The mixture has been poured into many glass bottles affixed with twine and brought to each new location in life but drinking the bitter medicine of “self care” has always been abandoned after the first sip.
